Yesterday’s event went well, Thanks to all those who attended.
There were several last min cancellations and to add to this I naively forgot to send out event reminders a day or two before.
For those who missed the event I will be producing an online presentation about Wikinomics

Our First event (May 2007) was for SPEED participants to present their ideas. 14 people were originally going to attend but with it being exam time only 7 could make it on the day, despite this the event went really well and in hindsight might of benefited from the smaller number. We split the event between 2 venues the Uni and Bohemia Cafe Bistro www.eatbohemia.co.uk. The uni had the presentation facilities but the red tape wouldn’t allow us eat there.
Originally I had said that people attending have 5mins presentation with 5 min Q&A, but with the small numbers it became a 10min presentation, with 20min open about ideas. It was great, everyone was enthused with so many ideas and each buiness developed in some way or another.
After talks at Uni we headed to Bohemia for food and drink. After dinner, our Host Andrew and Chef Ross, the entrepreneurs behind Bohemia, gave us some tips they’d picked up on the way. As did their mate, and our special guest, Kerri, the co-founder of ‘High-Life Hookahs’. Europe’s biggest and best distributor and manufacture of hookah/sisha pipes www.high-lifehookahs.com. Then after food, we all played some Beer pong, www.iwantbeerpong.com, an American drinking game distributed in the UK by two ex Birmingham Students who are SPEED participants.
That night everyone went home happy, fulfilled and excited. Furthermore the atmosphere, discussion and enthused people, had proved to us that Build Enterprise was wanted and would be successful.
